Join us for a masterclass with Sound Designer Dustin Coombe as he talks about his process in the sound design of Chasing Coral and Chasing Ice.

Dustin Cawood is a Sound Effects Editor and Sound Designer with over 50 film credits. His work is diverse and can be heard in live action films, animation, television, and documentaries as well as theme park attractions. Through his career, Dustin has worked on films by George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, Robert Zemeckis, John Lasseter, Brad Bird, Andrew Stanton, Pete Docter, Tim Burton, JJ Abrams and a host of others. Sound Designer for Chasing Coral and Chasing Ice, He also served as sound effects editor on Pete’s Dragon, The Boxtrolls, Lincoln, Madagascar 3, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, Toy Story 3, Up, and many others. His work has received multiple Golden Reel Awards nominations from the M.P.S.E., winning in 2009 for WALL-E. He received an MFA from the Florida State University College of Motion Picture Arts.

DePaul University’s School of Cinematic Arts presents VERITÉ, and annual documentary eventon October 27th and Saturday, October 28th.

Verité is a two-day program that brings award-winning documentary filmmakers to DePaul University for an in-depth look at the filmmaking process. Through film screenings, panel discussions and master classes, Verité creates a venue for students and documentary enthusiasts to participate in the behind-the-scenes decision making process that goes into creating documentary films and other non-fiction media.
