Hygge - Creating Sanctuary

HYGGE- Creating Sanctuary

What is hygge (HUE-gah)?
Perhaps the Danish word 'hygge' is not meant to be translated; it is meant to be felt. The concept of hygge can be thought of as a warm glow, a feeling of comfort and contentment, a deeply satisfying feeling of well-being, and an indulgence in all the good things and people in one's life. It includes the sharing of stories about ideas, history, culture and the things we create. Hygge is personified by making the ordinary meaningful and special. It is a warm embrace for the soul.

Artists are invited to submit original artwork for the “Hygge - Creating Sanctuary' exhibit to be held at the Kavanagh Gallery of Fine Line Creative Arts Center, St. Charles, Illinois. The show is  open to all mediums. The show will be curated by the Kavanagh Gallery Committee and will be advertised throughout the Chicago land area though print media, postcards, on-line advertising and through social
media. The show will charge a sales commissions 30% for any artwork sold during the show.
Fine Line will handle all sales and sales tax and will provide the artists with a check after the
end of the show for all sales.

This is a gallery show so artists need not be present while the show is open. Attendance at the
opening reception is strongly encouraged but not mandatory. Fine Line will handle the show
installation, opening reception, and sales.

able to affix artwork to the wall with nails or screws. If you have any unusual hanging
